Physical Education Teacher
Overview
Graduate year teaching Physical Education at a state high school in Brisbane's bayside. The starting point of a career that would pivot from PE into digital technologies, corporate L&D, and education leadership.
My teaching career started here. Fresh out of university with a dual degree in education, I taught Physical Education at Wynnum State High School. The classroom management, planning, and assessment skills I built in this first year formed the foundation for everything since.
While I loved PE, I was already drawn to technology and how it could improve learning. Within a couple of years I had moved into IT teaching, a shift that eventually led to curriculum leadership and AI tool development. The fundamentals I picked up that first year have stuck regardless of what I was teaching.
