Senior Learning and Development Advisor

Overview

Delivered large-scale training programs to support the rollout of digital hospital systems across Queensland Health facilities. Built eLearning materials, managed LMS platforms, and provided face-to-face training for clinical and administrative staff.

Queensland Health was rolling out integrated electronic medical records (ieMR) across multiple hospital and health service sites, and my role was to design and deliver the training that got clinical and administrative staff ready for the transition. It was my first real experience of learning and development at genuine scale.

The scale was significant: thousands of staff across multiple sites, each with different workflows, skill levels, and resistance to change. I built eLearning modules, quick reference guides, and face-to-face training sessions, and managed content through Moodle-based LMS platforms.

Every staff group needed a different approach. What worked for ward nurses did not work for admin clerks, and doctors were a category of their own. That lesson in reading your audience carried straight into my classroom teaching.
