Year 5 Classroom Teacher
Overview
Taught Year 5 in a primary school setting, delivering the full Australian Curriculum across all key learning areas. Also contributed to staff professional development in digital pedagogy.
After several years in corporate learning and development, I returned to the classroom. Teaching Year 5 was a deliberate step to reconnect with core pedagogy and understand how younger learners engage with structured content.
It reinforced something I carry into every role: good teaching is good teaching regardless of the age group. Clear expectations and honest feedback work just as well with 10-year-olds as with adults.
I also used this time to share digital pedagogy skills with staff, running informal PD sessions on classroom technology and online learning tools.
